Project Assistant - Department of Emergency Medicine

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced ProjectAssistant - Department of Emergency Medicine at its Detroitcampus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Job Purpose:

The Project Assistant will help organize activities across twocampus research sites, track participant records (e.g., consent,debrief, and compensation), and manage participant scheduling. TheProject Assistant will also be responsible for accounting andbudgets.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist investigators with the planning, development andimplementation of various research studies.
  • Serve as the contact person for external constituents whichincludes handling highly sensitive and confidentialinformation.
  • Assist with participant recruitment, scheduling, record keeping.Collect, analyze, and archive data.
  • Assist with accounting, payroll; manages operating budgetassociated with grant funding.
  • Supervise students and any part-time staff assigned to projects.Hire, train, and discipline assigned personnel.
  • Assist investigators with meeting publication submission deadlinesand annual report deadlines.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Unique duties:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • The candidate should possess a Bachelors degree in Communication ora related discipline.
  • Experience: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-relatedexperience)
  • The candidate must have prior experience working in social scienceresearch environment. Candidate should also have relevantaccounting and human resources skills.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer Skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office, SONA Systems,and Qualtrics research software.
  • Communication Skills – ability to communicate effectively andpersuasively through writing and speaking with a varietyaudiences regarding highly sensitive and confidentialinformation.
  • Analytic Skills – ability to work with and provide support formulti-faceted projects; ability to manage and track budgets.
  • Business Skills - Candidate should have relevant accounting andhuman resources skills.
