Project Architects and Project Designers are ‘the pulse’ of R+B! PA/PD’s leave a lasting impression with our clients, create trusting relationships, and deliver the best project performance. They are ultimately responsible for all drawings, documents, and specifications with specific attention to the technical design of the project.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the project Work Plan, defining clear responsibilities, milestones, and deliverables, accountability, and communicating progress to R+B leadership
  • Participate actively in R+B’s convergent design process, engaging the project team in exploring, evaluating, and refining design options into a cohesive direction
  • Advance the shared design vision, incorporate feedback from firm leadership, and preserve design intent through technical development, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Guide the team through design iterations and evolving priorities, communicating the effects of revisions on scope, schedule, fees, and workload
  • Establish and communicate project standards, implement a quality control plan, and allow adequate time for coordination and review to deliver accurate, complete documentation.
  • Coordinate project start-up and close-out, ensuring required documentation, agreements, handoffs, and outstanding items are completed
  • Manage project performance against scope, schedule, and fee budgets, identify variances early, and coordinate corrective actions and fee collection efforts with firm leadership and accounting
  • Develop scopes of work, fee estimates, proposals, and client and consultant agreements in coordination with firm leadership; monitor changes and document revisions and additional services throughout the project
  • Plan and coordinate team workloads, provide clear direction and timely feedback, and follow through on commitments to support successful project delivery
  • Ask thoughtful questions, confirm priorities and design direction, and raise concerns about scope, deadlines, resources, or technical issues early, proposing solutions
  • Collaborate with interior designers, visualization specialists, consultants, and project teams, drawing on each discipline’s expertise to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Develop and execute highly customized luxury residential projects with exceptional attention to detail, technical rigor, and care for the client’s vision
  • Preparation of and ultimate success of the set of drawings and specifications using R+B standards (accurate, thorough, efficient, aesthetically pleasing graphics)
  • Technical accuracy, completeness and constructability of the Construction Documents at all stages of development
  • Appropriate application and incorporation of building, zoning, energy, accessibility, and other relevant codes to all projects
  • Appropriate application and incorporation of recent and relevant building science and materials to all projects
  • Manage, coordinate, and serve as the primary point of contact of consultants, building agencies, and contractors

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant architectural experience or demonstrated equivalent experience, preferably in luxury residential design and delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field
  • Passion for a collaborative, convergent design process and the exploration, evaluation, and refinement of ideas toward a shared design vision
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accurate, thorough, and coordinated work
  • Desire for iterative design, with the ability to incorporate feedback thoughtfully and maintain design intent through technical development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and team coordination, including multiple projects or workstreams as needed
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, recognize when guidance is needed, and raise concerns early
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, building systems, construction detailing, and documentation
  • Ability to guide and support project teams through clear work planning, communication, collaboration, and timely feedback
  • Strong organizational skills, reliable follow-through, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities while communicating impacts on workload and deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and 3D modeling and rendering tools

Salary Range: $80,000–$130,000, based on experience, licensure, and location
