Technical Program Manager – Hybrid | Westminster, CO - Space Systems

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

We're working with a major player in satellite and geospatial technology looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to oversee the delivery of an advanced spacecraft programme, from early development and engineering through to launch and initial operations.

This is a highly technical, delivery-focused position requiring someone who understands how spacecraft are designed, built, integrated and tested. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing and external suppliers to keep technical execution, programme schedules and key milestones on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead programme execution throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle, from design through to operational readiness.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, hardware, software, manufacturing and integration & test.
  • Manage programme schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies and critical milestones.
  • Oversee external suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring technical requirements and delivery commitments are met.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, programme risks and schedule constraints.
  • Support spacecraft assembly, integration, qualification testing, launch preparation and commissioning.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership and stakeholders to drive decisions and maintain programme alignment.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant experience within the space or aerospace industry.
  • Direct experience delivering spacecraft, satellite platforms or major spacecraft systems.
  • Strong engineering foundation, ideally in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience transitioning technical knowledge into programme or project leadership.
  • Understanding of spacecraft architecture, hardware development, integration, testing and verification.
  • Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors, programme budgets and technical schedules.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Experience within satellite manufacturers, spacecraft integrators or aerospace organisations.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Able to work onsite in Westminster, Colorado, Tuesday–Thursday, with approximately 10–15% travel.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to remain close to the engineering while taking ownership of a complex spacecraft programme. We're particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from hands-on engineering into technical programme management and understand what it takes to deliver flight-ready spacecraft. xzgxqkn
