- Independently manage strategic suppliers
- Lead component and supplier selection for new products
- Establish business models, maintain contractual requirements, and foster relationships with critical suppliers
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies
- Develop and update commodity strategy
- Update and inform management and purchasing teams on strategy, trends, and risks
- Collaboratively and cross-functionally develop action items and implementation plans
- Develop updates on critical semiconductors, chips, and mechatronics commodities, including market conditions, industry trends, processes, suppliers, cost drivers, and performance goals
- Provide strategic leadership and management of suppliers across price/cost, quality, agility and flexibility, technology leadership, and supply security initiatives
- Assure best cost structure and define cost-reduction initiatives and metrics across design, production, and aftermarket
- Drive supplier quality initiatives covering initial quality and long-term goals
- Implement supplier-managed programs and process improvements to ensure material availability and manage inventory levels
- Select and develop technology-leading suppliers with Engineering
- Establish action plans to ensure long-term supply security and address potential supply risks
Requirements
- BS/BS level degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Logistics, or related technical discipline
- Prefer 5–7 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations and supplier selection/management
- Experience in purchase of technical commodities and implementation of best practices
- Direct experience in Purchasing and Supply
- Previous work experience in commodity management for both build to print (BTP) and OEM commodities, procurement, contracting, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, quality, account management
- Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to lead and manage projects
- Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals
- Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create strong working relationships
- Ability to act as an advisor to management and key stakeholders (internal/external) on broad ranging projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English both written and verbal
- Must be flexible to work extended hours to support business requirements
