Private Equity Associate

A Minneapolis-based private equity firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team. Founded in 2002, the firm has raised nearly $2B across five funds. The firm partners with founder-, family-, and entrepreneur-owned businesses across sectors including industrial technology, business services, life sciences, specialty materials, packaging, industrial distribution, residential services, and niche consumer products.

This role offers the opportunity to work on live transactions, financial analysis, due diligence, add-on acquisitions, and portfolio company initiatives while collaborating closely with senior investment professionals on a lean team . The Associate will gain significant responsibility and hands-on exposure across the entire investment lifecycle , from sourcing and execution through portfolio management and value creation.

Private Equity Associate Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of Private Equity experience.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills expected of a top-tier Private Equity Associate .
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
• Interest in investing across a broad range of lower middle-market industries.

Private Equity Associate Responsibilities:

• Conduct research, market analysis, and financial modeling to support investment evaluations.
• Assist with due diligence processes, coordinate with advisors, and prepare investment committee materials.
• Build and maintain valuation, operating, and return models for new and existing investments.
• Partner with management teams on growth initiatives, strategic projects, and add-on acquisition opportunities.
• Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture with meaningful exposure to senior leadership and decision-makers.
