Job TitlePress OperatorJob DescriptionShift: Night Schedule: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM; 2/2/3 rotating schedule Shift Premium: $1.00 Pay Rate: $20.10 Position Summary: Under the direction of the Team Performance Leader, the Press Operator is responsible for the safe operation of flexographic printed presses to produce material which meets current quality standards at optimum rates and yields. This responsibility includes the performance of those tasks necessary to achieve proper press operation, such as:Correctly build up production orders and doctor blade assembliesChange and match inks for productionLoad and unload material from the presses using defined equipmentInstall/remove press cylinders, sleeves, and anilox rolls as required for each production order.Set up and print all formulations for the bags product line.Perform all required quality checks to ensure a product can be processed at the next stage of the manufacturing process.Follow all safety rules and procedures.Assist maintenance and process technicians in troubleshooting.Follow the production schedule as issued by shift TPL.Provide adequate turnover to the oncoming shift.Coordinate special projects as they are assignedBreak out operators for lunches/breaks and fill in where/when requiredSafely lift up to 40 pounds of solvent and ink buckets.Follow all applicable EHS, Quality and Food Safety procedures and protocols, and report any incident to his/her supervisor.Complete all EHS, Quality and Food Safety applicable training.Support implementation of the Quality and Food Safety program and comply with the expectations if this role is included as part of the Food Safety or Internal Audit team.Qualifications Required:Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalencyStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are desired.Ability to pass training to become qualified on one or all machine production lines.Must have good communication skills, both personal and via EmailMust have outstanding troubleshooting skillsMust have good judgment with decision-making regarding Safety and Quality.Ability to complete production-related documentation on both computer and paper formsMust have excellent team skillsAbility to take direction from several individualsAbility to work additional overtime if required to get the job tasks completedSelf-motivated and able to make decisionsRequires basic reading, writing, and math skills.Ability to pass a hue and color vision assessment.Able to work without close supervision and instruct others as necessary.Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained.Preferred:Computer knowledge and 1-2 years of Windows applications experience preferred.Benefits and Perks:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Employee assistance program Employee discounts Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid elder care Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance
