What You’ll Do
CoreWeave is scaling a portfolio of mission‑critical data center infrastructure to support high‑performance computing workloads. The Principal Operational Readiness Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for stabilizing and driving execution of complex data center projects across CoreWeave’s infrastructure portfolio.
About The Role
This role focuses on design compliance, operational readiness, and cross‑functional coordination across design, construction, commissioning, fit‑out, and operational handoff. The Principal Operational Readiness Engineer performs deep operational and technical reviews of projects to identify gaps in process execution, design validation, construction coordination, turnover readiness, and quality assurance practices.
In This Role, You Will
- Perform deep operational and technical reviews of active projects to identify gaps in design validation, process execution, construction coordination, turnover readiness, and quality assurance.
- Assess whether critical infrastructure systems, construction activities, commissioning efforts, and operational handoff procedures are being executed in accordance with project requirements, standards, and best practices.
- Identify deficiencies, breakdowns in coordination, incomplete validations, and missing controls that could impact schedule, reliability, scalability, or operational readiness.
- Develop and drive corrective action, mitigation, and recovery plans through resolution for distressed or high‑risk infrastructure projects.
- Partner closely with Design, Construction, Operations, Network Engineering, Commissioning, and external contractors to improve coordination, strengthen execution discipline, and ensure projects are delivered to CoreWeave’s operational and technical standards.
- Review project documentation including construction drawings, MEP designs, RFIs, submittals, schedules, turnover packages, and change orders to validate project readiness and execution quality.
- Monitor project dependencies, sequencing, and critical path risks across large‑scale data center build and fit‑out programs.
- Support the successful turnover of projects into operations by validating readiness, identifying gaps, and driving issue resolution before handoff.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline and 15+ years of experience in data center design, construction, commissioning, or operational readiness within mission‑critical environments.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling systems, controls, generators, UPS systems, and critical plant operations.
- Proven experience managing distressed or high‑risk infrastructure projects and driving corrective action plans to successful completion.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly assess active project sites, identify execution risks, and develop mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Deep knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, turnover planning, and fit‑out coordination for large‑scale data center projects.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating across design teams, general contractors, commissioning agents, vendors, and operations organizations.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling methodologies, construction dependencies, and critical path management; experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, MEP designs, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
- Ability to lead technical issue resolution and drive decision‑making across multiple stakeholder groups in dynamic project environments.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or commissioning‑related certification.
- Experience supporting hyperscale, HPC, or AI‑focused data center environments.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes, integrated systems testing (IST), and operational turnover procedures.
- Experience working across global or multi‑region data center deployment programs.
- Knowledge of industry standards including Uptime Institute, NFPA, ASHRAE, and IEEE.
