Principal Electrical EngineerThe Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization is currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Richardson, TX with analog and digital design experience. The Principal Electrical Engineer is a lead position responsible for clean sheet and upgrade electronic solutions across multiple Circuit Card Assemblies. In addition to being cognizant of an individual circuit card design, the Principal Electrical Engineer will mentor other engineers with various backgrounds in circuit card and firmware design providing guidance and support across program.Products are typically required to comply with various MIL standards including MIL-STD-461 or DO-160.
This opportunity is targeted toward engineers who enjoy working in a systems environment as it includes designing multiple electrical elements of a product; interacting with mechanical and software team members; developing PCB and system requirements; and supporting system test teams. Some domestic travel may be required.Sign-on Bonus EligibleWhat You Will Do:Research, develop, design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate an electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.Prepare engineering drawings or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems.Prepare documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means.Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic component including power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems, servomechanisms, circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and video systems.Mentor newer engineers in design and development practices.Qualifications You Must Have:Experience with pre-CAD circuit design, including schematic capture, power, FPGA resource utilization, background knowledge of PWB stacks ups.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
