A Typical Day in the Life…

n

A typical day as The Family Partnership’s PRIDE Case Manager provides an opportunity to provide support, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services to individuals who are victims of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, or prostitution. Responsibilities will include the following:

n

Conducting support/process groups for youth, young adults, and adults who are survivors of sex trafficking both in-house at the Family Partnership and in corrections facilities around the metro area.

n

Providing crisis intervention, support, information, referral, and case management in-person and over the phone (travel to meet clients in the community a regular requirement).

n

Connecting clients with community resources and assisting clients in using resources.

n

Assisting clients with creating safety and goal plans and monitoring their progress regularly.

n

Providing court advocacy as needed.

n

Maintaining partnerships with law enforcement and assisting partners with detail operations as they pertain to victims of sex trafficking.

n

Providing appropriate transportation to clients as needed.

n

Assisting with creating transition/release plans for currently incarcerated clients who are not currently working with any other services.

n

Assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining housing.

n

Assisting with the coordination of services between client, probation officers, social workers, treatment centers, shelter teams, therapists, medical professionals, etc.

n

Facilitating outreach in the community including court outreach in the government center and public safety facilities.

n

Attend regular community meetings such as Justice Involved Girls & Women’s Task Force and other community meetings pertaining to justice involved clients.

n

Facilitating court outreach in the government center and public safety facilities.

n

Representing the program in judicial, criminal justice, and law enforcement settings.

n

Providing training and education about PRIDE Program and sex trafficking to the public.

n

Documenting and recording program outcomes in the agency’s databases.

n

Conduct housing assessments to determine eligibility for housing placement.

n

Providing reports for other community stakeholders such as probation officers and social workers as requested and outlined in current contracts held by the agency.

n

Preparing materials and activities for group sessions both at the agency and in the community.

n

Maintaining the court calendar for dissemination to criminal justice and judicial partners.

n

Completing documentation of drug court calendar for billing purposes.

n

Maintaining documentation of community groups client rosters.

n

Extracting data from online court databases for the purpose of staying informed about new and continuing cases.

n
Minimum Education Required
n

You hold a bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, have four years of relevant experience, or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

n
Minimum Experience Required
n

You have experience with a variety of specialized training that prepares individuals to work in trauma-informed ways with trafficking victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (for example: case management, advocacy, group dynamics, and victim rights/services).

n

You have experience with direct practice work with women and teens who have experienced trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, and prostitution.

n

You preferably have two years of experience with engaging and mentoring youth.

n

Survivor experience is valued, and survivors of trafficking are encouraged to apply.

n

You have a working knowledge of legislation such as VAWA, TVPA, and similar laws and legislature that impact victims of sex trafficking.

n

You have a working knowledge of how criminal justice and court systems work.

n

You are skilled in facilitating groups with women of diverse ages and ability levels, such as comprehension and learning styles.

n

You have the ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

n

You have the ability to write in English sufficiently to provide correct grammar in client case notes and in written documents on behalf of the client.

n

You are skilled in conducting training sessions for professionals.

n

You have an understanding of issues important to urban, low-income communities, communities of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other oppressed and/or vulnerable populations.

n

You have knowledge and understanding of co-occurring mental health/chemical dependency concerns when working with at-risk populations.

n

You have effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate others, develop professional relationships, and collaboratively work with other staff.

n

You have the ability to work with and manage several databases and maintain client confidentiality.

n

You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet TFP’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
