Premium Collections SpecialistThe Premium Collections Specialist is responsible for coordinating premium collection activities for overdue accounts to support timely and accurate premium recovery. This position monitors delinquent accounts, performs collection follow-up, resolves billing-related issues, and provides professional service to internal and external customers.
The role also serves as a subject matter resource for premium collection processes and works collaboratively to support departmental operations.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor delinquent group and individual accounts in accordance with established collection policies and timelinesGenerate and review delinquency, aging, and collection reports to support follow-up activitiesPrepare and track collection communications, including letters, emails, and customer outreachDocument customer responses, payment arrangements, and account resolution activities accuratelyCollaborate with Billing, Enrollment, and other internal departments to resolve account issuesRespond to billing and collection inquiries from internal and external customers professionally and timelyMaintain accurate records to support reporting, compliance, and audit readinessProvide backup support for billing and collections functions as neededRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 3 years of billing and customer service experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systemsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to perform mathematical calculations involving percentages, ratios, and account balancesStrong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skillsAbility to learn and adapt to billing, collections, and reporting systemsAbility to use ten-key by touchPreferred QualificationsAssociate degreeUnderstanding of basic accounting principlesExperience with premium billing, collections, or healthcare-related financial processesWorking ConditionsService center environment with moderate noise levelMay require occasional lifting of up to 20–25 poundsEligible to work from home subject to management approvalThis position requires residency on O?ahu, Hawai?i
