JOB OVERVIEW
As a Pool Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for providing excellent on-site pool cleaning and maintenance services to each assigned client. This role requires working independently while managing a designated swimming pool route, which includes cleaning pools weekly, stocking chemicals, and properly adjusting water chemistry.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage swimming pool route of approximately 13+ pools.
Check and empty skimmers
Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding recommendations on repairs, replacements, and upgrades of plumbing equipment.
Perform filter cleaning, basic pool repairs, chemical checks
Ensure completion of maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
Load and unload materials onto the truck.
Pull pool covers off, fold, and place them in storage.
Work with hazardous chemicals such as acid.
Lift and clean pool furniture.
Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately according to company protocol.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by handling materials properly, storing equipment securely, and ensuring job site cleanliness daily.
Ensure that all work activities comply with government and company PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) standards.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in pool maintenance and cleaning, preferred.
Knowledge of pool chemicals and equipment, preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Effective time management skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime (if needed).
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting 50+ lbs.
Working outdoors for prolonged periods of time in the cold and heat.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Pool Technicians require flexible schedules and may work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and work overtime depending on business needs. Typically, "in-season" from March/April-September/October 6 days/48 hrs per week, including overtime pay. "Off-season" is 40 hrs per week.
Ability to work during certain holidays, particularly during peak summer months, as pool service is critical during these times. Must be available on summer holiday days and corresponding weekends; specifically Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day.
Pools are grouped by area. Route assigned may be any county surrounding metro-Atlanta. Office location is in Alpharetta; however, you may start your route without reporting to the office daily. Trips to the office are only required for training, to pick-up chemicals/supplies, for a monthly safety meeting, and at the request of your manager to meet in-person if necessary.
