JOB TITLE: Plant Technician

DEPARTMENT: Plant Department

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

SUMMARY: The Plant Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining regeneration facilities (PE, DI, Bottled Water) and plant to ensure an adequate supply of quality products are available for customers. Plant and or Parts Laborers require skill, efficiency, and physical ability. This is a specialized job wherein employees require executing their dedication and proficiency in completing delegated task and handling Culligan equipment and parts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Perform, maintain, and record accurate inventory of all parts and equipment

Perform complete regeneration of all equipment, including transferring and cleansing resin, filling resin tanks with regenerated resin, sterilizing and installing all manifolds and caps, and testing for acceptable results.

Operate bottling facility according to established standards.

Ensure all tanks have media completely up to recommended level.

Identify and dump all tanks that are suspected of leaking or in need of repair.

Able to distribute products and parts to walk-in-customers.

Communicate clearly and positively with customers, including legibly completed forms.

Take appropriate and immediate action to resolve complaints.

Seek opportunities for additional sales.

Maintain and repair automatic water conditioning equipment brought to warehouse for repair.

Maintain open and positive communication with other employees, departments, and dealerships, and aid where possible to support company-wide goals to exceed customer’s expectations.

Maintain a positive Culligan image.

Complete assessment inventories.

Handling of all inbound and outbound goods and materials of the Plant

Tagging, labeling, and stocking all warehouse supplies

Efficiently completing all activities delegated by the Parts/Inventory Manager

Loading and unloading forklifts and other warehouse machinery and equipment

Maintaining tidiness and cleanliness standards of the Plant / Parts dept

Organizing the stocking and properly storing goods and materials

Coordinating all work functions with co-workers, transporters, and other organizational departments

Conducting regular checks and maintenance functions of all the warehouse machinery

Cleaning bottled water coolers

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

No prior experience or training.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Valid Driver's License & Forklift Certification

Computer skills required: Inventory Software

Other skills required:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Continually required to stand, walk, sit, and utilize hand and finger dexterity

Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

Continually required to talk or hear

Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)

Frequently work near moving mechanical parts

Occasionally work in high, precarious places

Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet-moderate

The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 115 pounds / frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds / continually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Additional remarks regarding work environment: May occasionally work in confined spaces

Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Forklift, bottling machine, tools, and resin
