Plant Engineering Manager

FPC of Hendersonville is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, and reliability functions at a fast-paced, well-established manufacturing site specializing in high-performance surface overlays and bonding materials. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role drives asset management, capital execution, and continuous improvement across the facility.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on engineering or maintenance leader who thrives in an environment that values autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and true operational ownership.

Salary: Up to $130K + 10% with stretch to 20%

Location: South of Seattle, WA

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all plant engineering assets, including capital budgeting, maintenance planning, and spending oversight.
  • Lead plant capital projects from concept through installation and startup.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate equipment against technical and quality requirements.
  • Hire, direct, and develop maintenance team members.
  • Optimize workforce utilization, preventive/predictive maintenance, and equipment layout for efficiency.
  • Provide engineering support for plant improvements, including design work, cost analysis, and equipment selection.
  • Advance automation, controls, and manufacturing systems to improve reliability and consistency.
  • Participate in PHA, PSSR, HAZOP, and lead RCA/RCFA training and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with PSM requirements and fixed equipment inspection programs.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years in plant maintenance, engineering, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven commitment to safety and knowledge of OSHA, machine safeguarding, and LOTO.
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels and respond to after-hours emergencies.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States; employer is not sponsoring visas

Preferred

  • Experience with TPM, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S.
  • Background in continuous or batch processes (Paper, Tissue, Non-Wovens, Coatings, Engineered Wood, Printing, Chemical, etc.).
  • Experience with PSM program implementation.
