Job Title

This is a Merit Promotion announcement for career and career conditional BSEE/BOEM employees, Career Transition eligibles (CTAP), and those who are eligible under the hiring paths listed above. Refer to Required Documents section for more information.

Some of the major duties you will perform include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Serves as an SME and advisor of the Liquid Verification System (LVS) and the Gas Verification System (GVS).
  2. Serves as the principle engineer for the review of all Commingling and Measurement Approvals and maintains the records within the Meters component of the Technical Information System (TIMS) in accordance with those approvals.
  3. Creates records in the TIMS Database for Facility Measurement Point (FMP) numbers and the associated lease(s) to ensure proper downloading of Oil and Gas Operations Reports (OGOR) for LVS and GVS purposes.
  4. Conducts reviews of complex production facilities for compliance with Subpart L of 30 CFR 250 and Regional policy. Plans, directs, and conducts engineering studies to ensure the accurate measurement of royalties by lessees and/or operators.
  5. Recommends revisions to regulations concerning commingling, transportation, and the acquisition of technical data.
  6. Provides guidance and assists less experienced engineers in the preferred methods for royalty measurement and commingling.
  7. Participates in conferences with industry engineering and accounting personnel in order to obtain reports, information, and statistics necessary for proper royalty accounting and to discuss policy problems on matters under consideration by the Unit. The incumbent makes recommendations for final approval to the Unit Supervisor.
