Overview

Job scope: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of services for babies ages 0-3 years old in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. Address the functional needs of a child related to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play and sensory, motor and postural development. Provide services in the home or virtually using a parent-coach model. Main office is located in Tyler, but the position serves the surrounding counties: Smith, Henderson, Wood, Anderson, Cherokee, Rains, Van Zandt, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Panola, Upshur and Rusk. Operates under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECI Program Assistant Director.

Education/licensure

• Associates degree from an approved college or university in occupational therapy.
• Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Prefer a minimum of one-year experience in pediatric occupational therapy.
• Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience / Knowledge

Experience in working with children with developmental delays is preferred, but not required.

Physical requirements

• Reliable transportation
• Able to complete activities necessary to perform services including bending, lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling and kneeling.
• Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold.
• Must lift and transport equipment for transfer and repair.
