Professional member of the home health team who provides skilled nursing visits in patients' homes under the direction of a plan of treatment established with a physician and input from the patient/caregiver.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assess a child's needs and provide initial care.
- Identify changes in pediatric signs and symptoms and intervene in emergency situations.
- Participate in pain management for pediatric patients.
- Record patients' medical history, symptoms, and vital signs.
- Advise patients and their parents on medication instructions and at-home care.
- Provide high-quality pediatric patient care, being careful and attentive.
- Address the anxieties and demands of parents, and help families deal with their child's illness or injury.
- Stay up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.
- Administer medication as prescribed by a physician.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in home care for 2 years with at least one year of supervisory experience.
- Possess emotional and mental strength, dedication, and self-motivation.
- Show empathy and the ability to relate to children.
