Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Job Description

The Nemours Cardiac Center at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, seeks a mid- to senior-level Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a collaborative team. The surgeon will participate in a broad range of pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeries, contribute to program development, quality initiatives, and leadership within the division and Cardiac Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and congenital cardiac surgical procedures across the full spectrum of patient types.
• Engage in continuous clinical development and mentorship, advancing autonomy in line with experience.
• Lead and participate in program development, quality and outcomes initiatives, and leadership within the division and Cardiac Center.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school.
• Eligibility for valid DEA and medical licensure in Delaware.
• Academic record commensurate with appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor.
• Board Certified following an ACGME‑approved Cardiac Surgery training program and sub‑specialty certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery.
• Additional capabilities or interests in neonatal and complex reconstructive surgery.
• Active involvement in clinical, translational, basic, or outcomes research highly desirable.
• Expected to actively participate in teaching students, residents, and fellows.
