Paraprofessional - Elementary K-8

Paraprofessional – Kindergarten through 8th grade

Monday - Friday.

7:30am to 4:00pm.

Hourly: $16.50-$18.00/hr.

Location:

Detroit Service-Learning Academy.

Redford Service-Learning Academy.

Summary:

• Responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families while maintaining documentation of services provided.

Essential Functions:

Works w/ Lead Teacher in

• Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs.
• Maintain program documentation on children and families.
• Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits.
• Document and communicate children's progress using the Child Observation Record (COR).

Training, knowledge, experience and certification(s) required:

• High School diploma required.
• Must meet the State of Michigan requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional with either 60 college credits completed in any subject or a passing score on the ETS Para Pro Assessment.
• Experience working in a school or with elementary experience is required.

Physical Requirement:

• Able to lift 15 pounds to carry, push and/or pull items.
• Hear and speak to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
• The ability to travel to other buildings within the district is required.
