Outside Plant SupervisorResponsible for all internal workmanship performed on the fiber infrastructure of WorldNet. The Outside Plant Supervisor will ensure all policies, procedures, quality work standards meet the expectations. Responsible for leading day to day activities of the field personnel assigned & assist the Planning engineers and specialists with duties as assigned.This position requires prior hands-on experience as a Fiber Splicer and/or Fiber Technician, with a strong understanding of fiber construction, splicing, testing, maintenance, and restoration activities.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Assign daily tasks to WorldNet fiber technicians.Ensures the fiber technicians follow company policies, such as code of conduct, IT security, etc.Monitors and ensures the fiber technicians are complying with safety procedures that includes OSHA and NESC standards.On call duty for fiber repairs and restoration.Occasionally inspect contractor's labor on OSP infrastructure.Occasionally work with and lead contractors, preparing detailed work prints, writing Job Cost estimates, and crafting a bill of materials (BOM) for aerial and underground projects.Provide recommendations to Planning engineers and/or specialists to improve the OSP conditions.Provides necessary reports such as budgetary and weekly production reports.Ensure the field technicians have all the necessary training, tools and materials to perform their duties within the highest quality.Conduct routine inspections of assigned technician vehicles to ensure compliance with company policies, security, safety regulations, preventive maintenance schedules, cleanliness standards, and readiness for daily operational activities.Responsible for marking WorldNet's Network Plant by Government Agency (Centro de Excavaciones) procedure request.Responsible for the care and maintaining up to date the assigned company vehicle as well as the field technician's vehicle.Other functions may be assigned.Supervisory responsibilities include directly supervising and providing mentorship to fiber technicians. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in fiber optic network construction, splicing, testing, maintenance, and restoration activities is required, including at least 2 years of experience supervising or leading field personnel.Language skills include the ability to express written (and verbally) organized thoughts with clarity and a high standard of grammar and language. Fully Bilingual (Spanish - English).Mathematical skills include the ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts such as, but not limited to, payback period, total cost of ownership, average values, gross margin. Ability to understand and create fiber path designs for P2P and GPON applications.Reasoning ability includes the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Other skills include proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and VISIO). Extensive knowledge in all aspects of CAT3/5e/6 and/or fiber installation practices. Demonstrated expertise in fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, fiber troubleshooting, network restoration, and interpretation of fiber network documentation and splice schematics. Ability to mentor and train fiber technicians using industry best practices and quality standards. Project Management skills. Problem solving abilities. Strong relationship skills. Knowledge developing project budgets and projections. General knowledge in TCP/IP protocols and the use of telnet tools for remote access. Ability to take direction and follow instructions with a positive, "can-do" attitude. Ability to multi-task and manage own workload and deliverables under strict timelines. Possess strict attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Physical demands include the ability to walk, climb ladders and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision, due to driving needs and others.Work environment includes indoor and outdoor activities.
