Physician Assistant (PA) Description

• First and/or Second Assist in the Operating Room.
• Provides pre‑operative and post‑operative care to patients.
• Documents patient encounters, including but not limited to: admissions, brief operative, progress, event, procedure and discharge notes.
• Enters, reviews and updates orders.
• Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and appropriate patient disposition.

Schedule

Per Diem - Mostly weekend and night coverage with some weekday coverage.

The institute at St. Vincent’s Medical Center is staffed by some of the top orthopedic specialists in the region through partnerships with Connecticut Orthopedics, Orthopedic Specialty Group, Ortho Connecticut Coastal Orthopedic, and Valley Orthopedic Specialists. Surgeons and their patients have access to robotics‑assisted technology including Mako Robotic‑Arm Assisted Surgery for knees and hips, and Globus Robotic Spine Surgery for the spine. This technology results in less invasive procedures and faster recovery.

Qualifications

• Board certified (NCCPA).
• Current or eligible CT PA license.
• Minimal two years of PA orthopedic surgery experience required.
