Oracle Database AdministratorOracle Database Administrator Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Service Catalog Manager for a contract-to-hire position in Richfield, MN. Position Summary: The client is currently hiring for an Oracle Database Administrator. This role creates infrastructure as code pipelines and automation within client predefined database architecture.
This position works closely with application developers to identify needs and set up appropriate data pipelines to maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of the database. The administrator assists data-engineers in the creation of functions and automation that pertain to development, analysis, performance tuning, and modeling of data.Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Automates the creation and maintenance of databases for all environments.Provides primary DB support for implementing, upgrading, and maintaining the DBMS (Oracle) environments.Develops new technologies and techniques to optimize database stability, resilience, and security.Monitors and resolve application connectivity and DB interface issues; proactively working with other support teams to ensure that application problems do not adversely affect production operations.Collaborates with application developers and vendors to report and resolve problems.Implements and tests database backup and recovery technology / procedures for database environments.Mentors and educates client technical staff, DB users and vendors in techniques to optimize query performance.Ensures compliance of all DB security standards in collaboration with IS&T Security Management.Debugs problematic database issues, provide analysis for future enhancements and development; proactively maintaining effective and efficient database structures and system processing.Forecasts and analyzes future capacity needs and develops tools and utilities to mitigate future capacity issues.Qualifications:4-year college degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field OR 3+ years IS&T related experienceSelf-learner with strong desire to solve hard problems2+ years experience with DevOps or database administration2+ years experience SQL and PL/SQL or T-SQL programming2+ years experience with Unix shell, Perl, or OS scripting language2+ years experience with performance tuningStrong knowledge of operating systems (i.e., Windows, Linux)Excellent oral and written communication skillsExperience with database backup and recoveryAvailable to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and be on-call (7 days x 24 hours)Effectively use Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPointPreferred:Hands on experience with DevOps and Automation (i.e., Ansible, Jenkins, Git).Hands on experience with OpenshiftHands on experience with LiquibaseHands on experience provisioning infrastructure using TerraformHands on experience with Azure Public CloudExperience working in an agile/scrum team.Administration of Oracle Exadata appliance.Oracle Certified Professional - OCP DBA ProfessionalExperience with MySQL and Microsoft SQL DatabasesIf this job is a match for your background, we would be honored to receive your application!Providing consulting opportunities to TALENTed people since 1987, we offer a host of opportunities including contract, contract to hire and permanent placement.
