Role Description

Redwood Eye Center is excited to welcome a motivated and patient-focused medical Optometrist to our team! We are seeking a clinically confident, detail-oriented optometrist who enjoys caring for a diverse patient population in a busy medical eye care setting.

This is an excellent opportunity to practice medical optometry while collaborating closely with an ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive, coordinated eye care. We offer flexible work arrangements for an optometrist seeking full-time, part-time, per diem, or locum opportunities.

Qualifications

• Clinical optometry skills, including comprehensive eye exams, refraction, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis of common ocular conditions.
• Ability to co-manage medical and surgical eye care with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care in accessible language.
• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current California optometry license (or eligibility to obtain), in good standing.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Tagolog
• Experience in medical optometry or an ophthalmology-based practice
• Experience diagnosing and managing ocular disease
• Experience in fitting specialty contact lenses (RGP, sclerals)
• Experience in myopia management (orthok, atropine, MiSight, stellest)
