As a Full-Time Optometric Technician, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Sunnyvale, CA. The scheduled hours are 9:15am- 6:15pm Monday-Friday.
What You'll Do:
Greets and assists patients in a timely and friendly manner
Prepares patients for examination
Takes patient history and other preliminary patient data
Performs simple non-invasive testing of visual acuity, pupils, and ocular motility
Performs automated visual field testing, ophthalmic photography, and digital imaging
Performs tonometry, auto lensometry, and non-subjective auto refraction
Maintains electronic medical records
Coordinates referral appointments for patients for diagnostic testing, evaluations, and treatment based on insurance type and according to provider-stated urgency
Documents and reports back to providers if unable to complete referral as requested
Files reports, labs, progress notes, prescriptions, and other incoming optometric reports
Assists patient with materials purchases
Pulls charts upon request
Maintains appropriate quality control logs
Ensures that all encounter forms are complete and accurate
Repairs spectacles as brought in by patients
May answer phones and directs calls appropriately
May require other duties as assigned
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
What You'll Bring:
High School diploma or equivalent
COA or COT certification preferred
Optometric-related experience required
Two to three years previous experience in an ophthalmology/optometry office performing initial examinations and diagnostic testing preferred
Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $32.45 - $40.57 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
