Ophthalmology (Glaucoma) Assistant Professor, Non Tenure Track

Overview

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota seeks a full‑time board‑certified or board‑eligible Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma to join our growing team. Academic rank will be determined by qualifications. The department has over 40 faculty across all subspecialties, including two other glaucoma ophthalmologists, and utilizes state‑of‑the‑art technology for imaging, laser treatment, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical glaucoma care at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and affiliated sites.
• Conduct clinical research and pursue external funding.
• Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows; participate in curriculum development.
• Engage with national ophthalmology organizations and foster an academic environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in glaucoma ophthalmology.
• Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota (Minnesota Board of Medical Practice) and ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification.
• Meet credentialing and privilege criteria.

Benefits & Compensation

Competitive base salary ranging from $325,000 to $492,450 (federal FTE), supplemented by a university salary tied to academic effort and a market‑competitive clinical salary paid by Minnesota Physicians.
