Maintains production schedules. Plans work, assigns work and trains employees. Has authority for hiring, termination, discipline and performance decisions. Ensures product quality standards are maintained. Moderate to high complexity in coordination and supervision of employees. Tennant Company Plant I is looking for an Operations Supervisor - 2nd shift.General Responsibilities:Provide the necessary leadership to manage, coach and direct assigned teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost metricsManage the team's performance through evaluations, development, training, and promotionsInterview and select new talentHold team accountable through coaching and disciplineMotivate and reinforce good behavior through timely recognitionCommunicate and administer company and department policies, work practices and procedures in an effective mannerIdentify, troubleshoot and remove barriers to success by using a data driven problem solving approach to make fact based decisionsSupport, implement and sustain continuous improvement initiativesOperate power-industrial equipmentRequired Experience & Education:Bachelor's degree preferred3+ years of applicable job experience (ex. production, distribution, logistics)Previous leadership/supervision experienceExperience with Lean System practices across multiple processesTrack record of ensuring equipment is properly maintained and preventative maintenance is performed in a timely mannerExperience in decision making and exercising sound judgement to plan and accomplish goalsRequired Interpersonal & Behavioral Skills:Effective communication skills with staff and peers from up and downstream processesIdentify continuous improvement initiativesAbility to motivate engagement of a diverse group of employees and drive changesCoach and mentor direct reportsClear understanding of problem solving process and methodsIdentify obstacles within department that may keep employees from being effective; takes action to address issues as they ariseDemonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situationsAbility to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential informationAbility to successfully handle and manage changeAbility to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally; collaborating well cross-functionallyAbility to work within Microsoft Office SuitePlans and holds the team accountable to daily tasks and departmental strategic goalsAppropriately receive constructive feedback from team members and leadership to continuously improve professionallyEffective time managementRequired Physical Demands:Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 poundsTotal Compensation = Pay range + Benefits Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth.
