Open Rank, Clinical Faculty - Diagnostic Radiology (Abdominal Imaging)

Position Overview

The Division of Abdominal Imaging in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, University of Miami Health System and Leonard Miller School of Medicine, is seeking a fellowship‑trained candidate for a full‑time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the clinical educator track. The successful applicant will join a faculty of more than 80 clinical radiologists involved in imaging at multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital and other UHealth sites.

Core Job Functions

• Active clinical practice in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Participation in the advancement and education of diagnostic radiology medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participation in the development and management of new and ongoing clinical research.
• Provide clinical imaging services to interpret X‑rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound examinations and perform some non‑invasive fluoroscopic procedures.
• Teach residents, fellows, and medical students, and participate in journal club and weekly multidisciplinary conferences.
• Supervise the performance of technical personnel.
• Be part of the on‑call radiology schedule.
• Exercise quality assurance related to general radiology and abdominal imaging.
• Provide abdominal imaging consultation as requested.
• Staff off‑site outpatient imaging sites as requested by the Division Director or Chair.
• Assume administrative responsibilities related to the practice of abdominal radiology.
• Participate in teaching activities related to general radiology and integrated residency programs.
• Serve on departmental and university committees as requested by the Chair.

Certification and Licensing

• American Board of Radiology Certified or Board Eligible
• Florida Medical License or Eligible

Experience

• Completed at least 1 year of dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Abdominal Radiology; prior university faculty experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes

• Provide clinical imaging services to interpret X‑rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound examinations, and perform non‑invasive fluoroscopic procedures.
• Teach residents, fellows, and medical students, and participate in journal club and multidisciplinary conferences.

On Call Information

• Jackson Health System: Provide coverage for imaging studies of patients scanned at Jackson Memorial Hospital on weekends and holidays, working with on‑call fellows and residents. Responsibilities include availability after hours (8 PM‑8 AM) 7 days a week during call week and reading all inpatient and outpatient imaging studies performed at Jackson Memorial Hospital and UHealth Tower between 8 AM Friday to 4 PM Sunday.
• UHealth System: Provide coverage for imaging studies performed at UHealth Tower and urgent imaging studies performed within the UHealth system during the weekend (8 AM‑4 PM).
