This role offers the opportunity to practice within Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to women's and infant's healthcare. The position involves working with a highly skilled team in a care team model, focusing on comprehensive obstetric anesthesia care.

  • The women’s hospital brings together a highly skilled team of health experts offering a comprehensive range of specialties
  • Case assignments are OB
  • The OB coverage would be in-house at the Women’s Hospital
  • Team works in a care team model approach

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Salary: $565,000 annually
  • Sign-on bonus: $75,000

Shift & Schedule

  • Night float position
  • Mon-Sun
  • One week on and one week off
  • This is a 26-week position

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMC and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
