Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Urgent Care / Occupational Medicine (1099)
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens opportunity providing Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine services. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a Monday-Friday schedule and no routine weekends or call.
The provider will float between multiple clinic locations within the market, delivering high-quality care for workplace injuries, occupational health services, and walk-in urgent care patients.
Contract length through 12/31 with potential to extend.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Provide episodic urgent care services for patients of all ages.
- Perform pre-employment, DOT, public safety, and surveillance physical examinations.
- Conduct workers' compensation evaluations and manage return-to-work cases.
- Perform common in-office procedures including:
- Incision and drainage
- Splinting and casting
- Wound care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory studies as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, employers, case managers, and clinic staff.
- Deliver excellent patient service while maintaining efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the practicing state.
- MN license
- Previous Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Occupational Medicine experience preferred.
- Comfortable performing suturing and other minor procedures independently.
- DOT Medical Examiner Certification required before the first shift (training/certification assistance provided if needed).
- Ability to travel between multiple clinic locations within the assigned market.
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
