Base pay range

$17.42/hr - $20.75/hr

What You’ll Do

Provides compassionate care to clients and members, ensuring the highest standard of quality under the guidance of department management and/or medical professionals.

Location: Arcadia's Home Health Department

Schedule: Full Time, Part Time, Casual, Call In

Pay Range: $17.42 - $20.75

Responsibilities

  • Answers call lights to determine clients’ needs (Day Care only).
  • Assists clients or members with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, eating (including set-up, serving and collecting food plates and utensils), feeding clients or members who require assistance, dressing, oral hygiene, and grooming as needed.
  • Assists with toileting and provides appropriate peri care for incontinent clients or members.
  • Assists clients or members to turn, reposition, and transfer, which may be performed by the NA without assistance, with two-person assistance, or by using a lift machine in accordance with the service plan.
  • Transports clients or members with ambulation to and from their room to appropriate areas for activities and meals.
  • Takes and records the clients and/or members’ ADLs, vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, and respiration rates), intake and output of food and fluid, transfers and ambulation status, mood/behaviors, and pain level assessment (if applicable).
  • Provides companion services according to the service plan.
  • Observes and reports to Licensed Staff all changes in condition, behavior, or whereabouts that may require intervention.
  • Monitors and supervises clients, and members as assigned.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Interacts with clients and members in accordance with AFC’s mission, core values, mindsets and guideposts.
  • Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and report and/or correct hazards.
  • Ensures that all clients’ and members’ rights and privacy are protected and maintained, and maintains liaison with clients, members and families.
  • Attends mandatory in-service programs and complies with annual employee health screening.
  • Participates and assists during emergency drills and incidents as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook and AHHS disaster policy.

Exclusive Essential Functions for NA reporting to Day Care Centers

  • Actively participates in the programs and activities of the Center.
  • Serves and collects food plates and utensils and pre-rinses and stores them properly for transfer to Arcadia.
  • Changes bed linens, washes and folds laundry.
  • Familiarizes with the individualized service plan of assigned clients to carry out the program’s services, goals, and objectives.
  • Monitors and supervises specific clients or activities as assigned.
  • Maintains Center’s facilities and equipment.
  • Facilitates and supports client participation in planned activities at or away from the Center, assisting with ambulation as needed.
  • Engages in positive interactions and promotes socialization during unscheduled periods.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Current State of Hawaii Certified Nurse Aide certificate. Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in using a computer, which may include using the software such as Vision or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.

Physical Demands

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The job requires standing, walking, sitting, and various physical activities; vision and hearing abilities are required.

Work Environment

Work may occur in an indoor office or outdoor setting and may involve exposure to hazardous materials; conditions vary by location.
