Schedule and Location

This full‑time Nuclear Medicine Technologist role is based at Bloomington Hospital. The schedule is Tuesday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with no weekend call. The technologist will join a collaborative team of two additional Nuclear Medicine Technologists and a Radiology Assistant. Familiarity with PET/CT is a plus, and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals to conduct body function studies, organ imaging, and analyze biologic specimens. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills for working with patients from pediatric to geriatric, follows physician instructions, prepares and operates equipment, and positions patients correctly to record requested diagnostic images. Requires a strong understanding of handling radiopharmaceuticals during receipt, storage, administration, and disposal. Requires knowledge of proper laboratory procedures and a strong understanding of all hospital, state, and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials, hazardous chemicals, and body fluids.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise patient positioning when routine positioning is not possible.
  • Active status through one of: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Registered Technologist – Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM)), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or recent graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Nuclear Medicine within six months of hire.
  • If required to perform SPECT/CT or PET/CT, must obtain Computed Tomography (CT) certification within 18 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
