Sanford Health is seeking BC/BE Nocturnal Hospitalists to provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients in Fargo, North Dakota. This role involves managing acute and chronic medical conditions, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes throughout hospitalization. Join a well-established hospitalist program with teaching opportunities and intensivist support.

Practice Info

  • Hospitalist program established in 1998
  • Full-time and part-time nocturnist positions available
  • Teaching opportunities of residents and medical students in internal medicine, podiatry, psychiatry and transitional year programs, through the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Average patient volume is 16 patients/day
  • Procedures are optional
  • Open ICU (with 24/7 intensivist support)

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, inpatient care for adult patients in a hospital setting
  • Focuses on the management of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Coordinates of care with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensures high-quality, patient-centered outcomes throughout hospitalization

Shift & Schedule

  • 7 on / 7 off schedule
  • Hours: 8pm-8am or 10pm-8am

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Current medical license in each state of practice
  • State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine; or Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine; or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada)
