Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital is seeking a Night Float Anesthesiologist to join their established group in Richmond, VA. This role offers the opportunity to provide anesthesia services for a high volume of cases annually within a community-based, not-for-profit health organization recognized for quality and nursing excellence. The position features a unique 26 weeks on, 26 weeks off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Practice Info

  • Our practice provides anesthesia services for over 44,000 cases a year.
  • Our group consists of 25 physicians and over 70 CRNAs covering two hospitals in the Richmond area, both with high levels of acuity.
  • Our care team model means that we focus on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.
  • Case assignments include general surgery, bariatric, cardiac, ENT, urology, vascular, orthopedic (adult and pediatric), OB, gynecologic, spine neurosurgery, pediatric, and plastic surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Salary: $540,000
  • Sign-on bonus incentives: $100,000

Shift & Schedule

  • 7pm to 7am Monday through Sunday
  • 26 Week On, 26 Weeks Off

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
