Features around-the-clock pediatric and adult emergency room care
Home to the Virginia Institute of Robotic Surgery Center, The Heart Center at Henrico Doctors', Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, Primary Stroke Center, Women’s Hospital, and the Virginia Transplant Center
Provides coverage to Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, Parham Doctors’ Hospital, and five ambulatory surgical centers
Case assignments include General, OB, Hearts, Peds, ortho, endo, GYN
The same local anesthesia practice has served Henrico Doctors’ Hospital for over 40 years

Responsibilities

Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed
