UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA, is seeking a Night Float Anesthesiologist to join their collaborative team. This role involves providing anesthesia services within a regional tertiary-care medical facility and Level II trauma center. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive care team model, focusing on high-quality patient care and professional development.

Practice Info

  • Regional tertiary-care medical facility, referral hub, and Level II trauma center
  • Over 400 beds with an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services
  • Team works in a care team model approach
  • Case assignments include Ortho, neuro, general surgery, transplants, and OBGYN

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Salary: $565,000 annually
  • Sign-on bonus: $75,000

Shift & Schedule

  • Mon-Sun. One week on and one week off
  • OB coverage would be in-house at the Women’s Hospital only on Saturday nights from 7p-7a
  • All other shifts would be “beeper” call in our Main OR

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMC and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
