Network SpecialistNexGen Data Systems is seeking a Network Specialist to provide daily on-site network operations support at assigned MTF location, ensuring network infrastructure availability, resolving Tier 0 incidents, and serving as primary 24/7 point of contact for network-related issues. The scope of this project is to provide LAN/WLAN network sustainment and operations services to the MHS MTFs and related activities, including DHA headquarters and training locations, inside the continental United States. This includes functions such as network performance measurement and monitoring, assistance with network design and development, network measurement.
It also includes customer service in the form of trouble tracking and troubleshooting, at the Tier 2 and Tier 3 level, for escalated trouble tickets and maintenance and sparing support.Roles & Responsibilities:Serve as primary on-site 24/7 network support contact for assigned MTFPerform daily network infrastructure operations and maintenance activitiesInstall, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and controllersCreate and manage VLANs in accordance with DHA Zone Architecture RequirementsTroubleshoot network connectivity issues and coordinate with GSC for escalationsInstall, test, terminate, and certify network cabling (material provided by Government)Perform device configuration and firmware updates per DHA standardsSupport network monitoring via SolarWinds NPM and ensure 100% device complianceConduct monthly hardware inventory validations for Asset Management (CDRL A010)Respond to and resolve Tier 0 trouble tickets without GSC escalationCoordinate with site staff on network-related activities and service impactsSupport DHA Infrastructure Modernization hardware refresh initiativesParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours support at assigned siteOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
