Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, statistics, mathematics, or computer science. 9 am‑5 pm Flexible.
  • Three (3) years of experience in performing duties related to system development life cycles and application software.
  • Experience with tax systems of record and comfortable in the financial application domain.
  • Full stack .Net development with proficiency in C#, Web APIs, and MS SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of general database design.
  • Experience with software engineering best practices, including establishing coding standards, design patterns, continuous delivery, code reviews, and secure coding principles.
  • Excellent critical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient in scripting in SQL and basic understanding of reporting tools.
  • Translates business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing application needs and configurations.
  • Expertise with GenTax application.
  • Background in development in a tax environment.
  • Previous work in tax administration and development of new taxing programs.
  • Experience in administration of taxes including sales tax, short‑term rental tax, alcohol beverage licensing, and occupational licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and supports the development of application programs. Ensures that designs effectively address operational issues and requirements. Offers recommendations to businesses on designs and solutions that mitigate business challenges.
  • Collaborate with business and technical users to troubleshoot application issues.
  • Installs, configures, tests, and implements new software to meet evolving business needs.
  • Evaluate, test, and accurately deploy service packages for maintaining production applications.
  • Coordinates with end users, vendors, and leadership teams to optimize performance and continually improve product and user experience.
  • Self‑starter that can work and perform duties with minimal supervision.
