Job Summary And Qualifications
As an MRI technologist, you operate MRI scanners and ensure that images are of the highest quality for diagnostic use. You interview patients, explain procedures, position them on the table, and perform exams with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Position and prepare patients for exams according to procedure type.
- Perform MRI procedures and assess patients throughout, responding to their needs.
- Complete appropriate documentation for each study performed.
- Use professional discernment and critical thinking during procedures.
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff members and teach students during clinical rotations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of scanners and exam protocols to ensure highest quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Currently registered as an MRI technologist (ARRT MR registry).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification, as specified in policy.
- Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- One year of experience in an MRI imaging department preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- High School Graduate / GED.
- (ARRT‑MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or (ARMRIT) American Registry of MRI Technologists.
