Mold Maker IThe Mold Maker I is responsible for performing less complex full tool builds/repairs, general component manufacturing, and help support work with minimal direct supervision.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job FunctionsInvestigate/Identify basic mold issues and perform necessary repairsIdentify and participate in recommending improvements for tool development and performancePerform basic setup and operation of CNC equipmentPerform grinding of various types of basic pins, cores and cavitiesPrepare components for heat treatment as requiredPerform simple shutoffs with minimal oversightRead and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists accuratelyRecord time and repair details into the maintenance ticket systemAdhere to all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredComply with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device regulationsUnderstand and follow all standard work proceduresParticipate in all required company meetingsMaintain a clean and organized work environment according to 5S principlesSupport the Operational Excellence ProgramWork effectively in a manufacturing environmentPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsCompletion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience repairing molds4+ years of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environmentBasic understanding of quality procedures and standardsAbility to plumb a toolBasic ability to understand and work within standard size and tolerance requirements for base componentsAbility to grind to tight tolerances, typically within ±0.0001"Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprintsSkilled in using hand toolsBasic ability in using surface grinders, mills, and lathesAbility to grind or machine a variety of mold componentsBasic skills in Microsoft Word and ExcelFamiliarity with Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing practicesGood interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skillsAbility to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and SOPsMechanical dexterity with strong hand-eye coordinationProblem-solving ability and troubleshooting skillsAbility to take direction from supervisorsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentDesirable Criteria & Qualifications5-7+ years of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment preferredAssociate degree or 2 years of technical/trade school is preferredPhysical & Environmental DemandsCretex Companies may use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.Pay RangeUSD $29.81 - USD $44.71 /Hr.Pay Range DetailsThis pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions.
