FT Mobile Specimen Collection SpecialistTSRR, TSRH, ORC, LWARMonday, Thursday 8am - 3pm; 30 min lunch (2-3 clinics in Rogers, AR)Wednesday 8am - 2pm; 30 min lunch (1 clinic in Holiday Island, AR)Friday - PRINJOB OVERVIEWThe Mobile Specimen Collection Specialist is responsible for collection of patient specimens in Long Term Care facilities. Specimens collected to include nasal swabs, urine samples, and blood draws. At times specimen collection may entail picking up other bodily specimens from the facilities in an assigned route.

Ensuring integrity of the specimen, obtaining accompanying patient information, shipping specimens, to the laboratory, entering patient information into EMR, or LIS system as needed. Requesting missing patient information from the clinic staff, correcting processing errors and other general office tasks as deemed necessary by Field Operations Supervisor of LTC.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCollect anterior nasal swabs for Covid – 19 testing following Ethos collection protocolsObtain blood specimen collection from patients following Ethos venipuncture protocols if applicable at the location(s) assignedProcess urine collections in Laboratory Information System if applicable at the location(s) assignedMaintains specimen integrity by following Ethos standard operating procedures and reference materials provided by Field Operations Manager of LTCTrack collected specimens by initialing, dating, and completing requisition forms as well as completion of any Specimen collection logsVerify patient, label specimens, and prepare for shipment to the laboratoryMaintains safe, secure, and clean work environment by following standard operating proceduresUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities & training provided by EthosAdheres to Ethos professional standards and policies, meeting federal, state, and local requirementsGreets patients and instructs them in proper specimen collection method. Maintains positive interaction with facility staff and positive representation of Ethos mission and valuesTransporting collected specimens to a designated location by a designated timeSubmitting accurate payroll time sheets and work/travel mileage logs to SupervisorAttend requisite Zoom meetingsOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSRegular and prompt attendanceMust be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when requiredExcellent attention to detail, time management skills and meeting deadlinesPositive attitude and ability to handle highly confidential information and remain compliant with HIPPAAbility to reflect positive attitude and disciplined work ethicAbility to work independently, and maximize overall productivityMeet or exceed quality and accuracy of work standardsStrong interpersonal & patient care skillsAbility to train new staff on Ethos collection proceduresStrong Procedure skills and attention to detailAbility to perform tasks with sound judgmentEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSTwo (2) or more years of specimen collection, medical, or laboratory experience requiredPhlebotomy Certificate Preferred, but not required.
