A leading provider of optometric care for correctional facilities in Florida is seeking a Medical Optometrist to join its team. The organization serves 72 facilities and offers a flexible travel radius determined by the optometrist’s location. This opportunity is open to both part-time (1099) and full-time (W2 or 1099) employment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive optometric care to inmates in correctional facilities
- Travel to assigned facilities within a reasonable radius from your home base
- Focus on medical optometry, managing a wide range of ocular diseases and urgent eye care needs
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all facility and regulatory requirements
Compensation:
- Florida-based full-time ODs can earn $400,000–$500,000 annually

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- At least two years of recent medically-focused optometry experience, or the completion of residency training in ocular disease management, or similar, is required
- New graduates must have completed relevant residency training
- Comfortable working independently and traveling to multiple sites
- Licensed (or eligible) to practice optometry in Florida
