Mission Software Engineer, EWAnduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.About The TeamAnduril's Electronic Warfare (EW) division builds next-generation electronic warfare platforms — hardware-enabled, software-defined systems that are fielded, in production, and scaling from hundreds to thousands of units. The EW team operates at a tempo the defense industry isn't used to: delivering novel system configurations into active operations in days, not months, and iterating based on direct operator feedback from the field. We are building a new Mission Software Engineering (MSE) team to own the full software lifecycle for EW products — from development and integration through deployment, sustainment, and customer success. If you want to write software that ships to real missions on aggressive timelines, this is the team.About The RoleWe're looking for Mission Software Engineers who are strong generalists and fast learners.
You don't need to be an expert in electronic warfare — you need to be the kind of engineer who can pick up any part of the stack, figure out how it works, and make it better. The problems here span embedded systems, backend services, data pipelines, deployment infrastructure, integration with Lattice OS, and operator-facing tools. You'll get deep exposure to RF and EW concepts on the job, working alongside domain experts. What matters most is your engineering fundamentals, your ability to ship reliable software under pressure, and your willingness to own problems end-to-end — from understanding the mission need to getting working code into the hands of operators. What You'll DoDevelop and maintain mission-critical software across the EW product stackBuild and improve deployment tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management systemsIntegrate EW systems with the broader Anduril Lattice ecosystemDebug and resolve issues in production and field-deployed systemsDevelop operator-facing tools and interfaces that make complex systems usable in high-stakes environmentsWork with embedded software and DSP engineers to bridge the gap between algorithm development and field-deployable softwareParticipate in field deployments, integration events, and customer engagementsContribute to a culture of engineering quality through code review, testing, and documentationRequired Qualifications1–4 years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent: strong internships, open source contributions, research)Proficiency in at least one of: Haskell, Rust, C++, Go, or TypeScriptComfort working in Linux environmentsStrong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, systems conceptsDesire to learn new domains quickly — you'll pick up RF, EW, and defense-specific concepts on the jobAbility to work in a fast-paced, unstructured environment where priorities shift based on mission needsEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S.
