Middle School Teacher - Mathematics

Middle School Mathematics Instructor

Instructs Middle School students in Mathematics. May be designated according to subject matter/content specialty. Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. This position reports to the Principal.

Key Responsibilities

• Instructs students, using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content field.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate students' progress, record results and issue reports to inform parents of progress. Maintains discipline in classroom. Supervises behavior outside the classroom (i.e., halls, bus, lunch/cafeteria, rest room duty).
• Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review student's progress, performance, and behavior problems. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
• All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

Key Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
• Makes recommendations and/or decisions which usually affect the entire school.
• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.
• Normal classroom/school setting.
• Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.
