Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a Medical Director of Structural Heart to lead its Heart and Vascular Institute in Danbury, Connecticut. This role involves clinical leadership, program development, and strategic growth within a comprehensive cardiac services environment. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified cardiologist with interventional cardiology expertise and significant post-fellowship experience in structural heart.

  • Cardiac services include Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Arrhythmia Center
  • Cardiac Surgery Program includes TAVR
  • Danbury Hospital's Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center, and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology

Responsibilities

  • Establish clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for structural heart interventions
  • Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and procedures
  • Lead multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case selection conferences
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics and clinical outcomes, including oversight of data collection and submission to national registries
  • Recruit and retain specialized structural heart team members
  • Provide leadership and training opportunities for support staff
  • Develop strategic plans for program growth, expand referral networks, and collaborate with marketing on promotion and outreach
  • Partner with members of the Heart and Vascular Institute as well as other departments and hospital administration

Requirements

  • Board certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience post fellowship training
  • Post fellowship training experience in Structural Heart is ideal
  • Previous leadership experience a plus
