Medical AssistantLocation: Robbinsdale, MNDuration: 13 Weeks ContractShift: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMJob Description:The Medical Assistant will manage the customer flow throughout the clinic and assist providers in the management and treatment of their customers. Customers come from a variety of backgrounds and various age groups requiring individualized care including infants, children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics.The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and clerical tasks to assist with the management of customer flow throughout the clinic. Tasks include standard rooming processes, giving immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider; and performing laboratory specimen collection as needed.
Dependent upon the specialty and clinic location, the Medical Assistant also may provide telephone support.Facilitate communication between customers and providersAssist with prescription refillsPerform x-ray duties as assigned if individual has passed the x-ray operator examPerform phlebotomy dutiesPerform clinic laboratory testsThe Medical Assistant also may provide support to the clinic:Front desk/check-in supportOrdering and stocking suppliesAssistance with prior authorizationsSubmission Requirements:1+ Years of Experience - RequiredMedical Assistant Diploma - RequiredMA Diploma must be from a program that meets accreditation standards from either CAAHEP or ABHESBLS (AHA or ARC) - RequiredHistory with Mental Health Patients (Inpatient or Outpatient) - Highly PreferredMust be comfortable working in an office with majority of patients being remote. - RequiredCovid Vaccine - Required
