- Assist with direct patient care and perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature
- Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
- Room patients, measure and record vital signs
- Complete patient interview and history
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures
- Assist with procedures as ordered by the physician
- Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients and perform routine laboratory tests
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience or Military Medic training or EMT-P (Paramedic) training or equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
- Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
