This role ensures all products are trimmed, portioned, and processed according to standardized specifications while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and HACCP protocols. The position supports efficient production through proper equipment operation, sanitation, and production line setup and breakdown. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to producing consistent, high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Prepare and process proteins and other food items by trimming, portioning, and handling according to established specifications and production standardsOperate processing equipment (e.g., grinders, mixers, slicers) safely and efficiently to meet production needsMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools, equipment, and workstations in accordance with food safety standardsSet up and break down production lines to support daily operations and ensure workflow efficiencyMonitor equipment performance, perform basic upkeep, and promptly report maintenance or safety concernsFollow all HACCP and food safety procedures, ensuring proper handling, storage, and labeling of productsInspect raw materials and finished goods to identify and report quality issues or inconsistenciesJOB REQUIREMENTS:Valid Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity standardsAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate basic information clearlyAbility to meet physical demands of the role, including extended standing and liftingAbility to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, including recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Basic cooking knowledge and knife skillsExperience with commercial food production equipmentFamiliarity with HACCP and food safety standardsBasic computer or tablet proficiencyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Stand and walk for extended periods, up to the duration of the shiftFrequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overheadLift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 poundsPerform repetitive hand and arm motionsSafely operate tools and equipment, including knives, blades, mixers, and grindersAdhere to workplace safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Work in varying environmental conditions, including wet surfaces and temperature fluctuations (hot and cold environments)Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and safety concernsNOTE: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position.
