Job Summary:
We are seeking a Materials Planner to support production and manufacturing operations by managing material requirements, inventory availability, procurement coordination, and production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRP systems, BOMs, inventory control, and supplier coordination in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage material requirements based on production schedules and BOMs.
- Review MRP recommendations and support procurement activities.
- Create purchase requisitions and coordinate with buyers and suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels, material shortages, and delivery schedules.
- Support material traceability, inventory accuracy, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate material movement through receiving, warehouse, production, and shipping.
- Track supplier performance and expedite critical materials as needed.
- Assist with BOM updates, engineering changes, and production planning activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of related experience.
- Experience in material planning, inventory control, procurement, or production support.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of BOMs, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Costpoint or similar MRP systems.
- Background in aerospace, defense, electronics, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO quality standards, material traceability, and configuration management.
