Materials HandlerThis role is responsible for purchase order receiving, inventory control, shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring accurate inventory accounting procedures. The Materials Handler will help maintain efficient warehouse operations by receiving incoming deliveries, preparing outgoing shipments, and supporting inventory management activities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceive, distribute, and store products in designated secure locationsPrepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped, including transaction dates, locations, and other pertinent informationTransport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods manually or using hand trucks and skidsResolve shipping, receiving, and inventory-related issues with contractors and vendors as neededCollect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, strapping, and other packaging materialsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentConduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations and company policiesMonitor inventory movement through inventory management software and physical inventory countsCoordinate with team leaders to plan and schedule deliveriesApply safe lifting, loading, and material handling techniquesShipping and Receiving ResponsibilitiesAccept and process deliveries from USPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and other vendorsEnsure product handling and shipping practices meet customer expectations and business objectivesReview shipping tickets and packing documentationScan, pack, weigh, and label inventory for shipmentVerify shipment accuracy and maintain shipping recordsInventory and Kitting ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate inventory records and physical organization of warehouse shelving and storage locationsConduct regular inventory cycle counts and auditsReceive purchase orders and perform quality inspections on incoming goodsVerify incoming products against packing slips and purchase ordersClose out purchase orders and update inventory management systems accuratelyKit manufacturing work orders according to production requirementsSupport inventory accuracy through ongoing monitoring and reconciliationRequirementsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareAbility to maintain accurate records and inventory documentationAbility to work independently while meeting deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective interpersonal and customer service skillsPreferred Knowledge and SkillsExperience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory managementBasic understanding of truck freight rates and freight logisticsKnowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and warehouse safety best practicesExperience with inventory management software and barcode scanning systems
