Master LocksmithEssential duties and responsibilities:Installs, maintains, and repairs university locking systemsCompletes project requests and estimates project costs for locking systems. Meets with requestors and vendors to research locking systems and develops recommendations for solutions. Completes and/or coordinates installationsMeets with stakeholders during building construction to map out the core codes needed for new or renovated buildingsMaintains keying records and systemsMaintains material/shop inventory, including ordering materials using the purchase requisition systemProvides immediate, on-call response as requested for building related maintenance emergenciesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, skills, and abilities:Knowledge of mechanical and electronic locking systems, including installation, maintenance, and repairKnowledge of electronic filing systemsSkill in the use of common hand toolsSkill in cutting, duplicating, and rekeying keys to meet security requirementsAbility to maintain door hardware equipment and specialty lock shop toolsAbility to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of key control and access systemsMinimum education and experience:High School diploma or GED5 years of relevant experienceEquivalent combination of experience and education may be consideredJob level overview:Operations, administrative, service, or technical support level 3 - Senior level role with considerable knowledge and skills.
