Manager Line MaintenanceThis position is responsible for all facets of the preventive maintenance and repair of airplanes to ensure all Amerijet aircraft meet appropriate quality standards and safety requirements and are ready for flight. The Manager Line Maintenance oversees 24/7-line maintenance operations to ensure a safe, compliant, sustainable and operationally world-class airline.Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:Lead and oversee Amerijet's line maintenance operations in Miami.Direct assigned maintenance personnel to ensure safe, on-time completion of all work assigned and to provide serviceable airworthy aircraft for scheduled operations. Coordinate personnel schedules to provide adequate manpower coverage as needed to support of aircraft maintenance operations.Assign mechanics for AOG support, rescue, and coverage for non-maintenance stationsDirect all maintenance activities performed by his/her work section to ensure: discipline, efficient utilization of assigned personnel, quantity and quality of production, and cleanliness of facilities during the shifts.Maintain work shift log of all work in progress, completed, or carried over. Perform proper inter-shift hand-off procedure.Ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform each maintenance function assigned to them.Coordinate with Maintenance Control and Quality Control, as required.Establish working schedules of all assigned personnel that will be adequate for the required production schedule. Manage overtime and fatigue awareness.Ensure that all records and reports that are required by Maintenance are maintained and sent at appropriate times.Ensure that Maintenance Control and down-line stations are aware of any maintenance problems leaving this station, giving as much information as possible to help expedite repairs.Ensure the quality of work and proper documentation, making, if applicable, the necessary corrections prior to work completion.Accountable for the control and security of company property.Perform additional duties as assigned.Performance Standards/Measurements:Become familiar with the Company policies, procedures, duties and responsibilities of the position and all subordinate maintenance staff as forth in this General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and associated flight operations staff as forth in the General Operations Manual.Promote Amerijet's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting Amerijet's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards.Be familiar with and promote Amerijet's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP).Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures, and risk controls.Consistently follow Company policies and procedures (including governmental and safety) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.Always exhibit a professional demeanor.Maintain communication with all involved parties.Maintain accurate and concise records/files.Regular attendance and punctuality.Work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance.Required Qualifications and Skills:High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma minimum, with college preferred.Must hold a current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings, with Boeing 767 qualified with certification and training records (engine run ups and taxi).Min. seven (7) years of experience working as an aircraft maintenance technician and min.
3 year of supervisory experience either maintaining the same category and class of airplane as the Company uses.Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Amerijet policies and acceptable laws.Ability to make decisions assertively.Ability to handle multiple responsibilities.Ability to plan, assign and direct work objectives.Ability to train and motivate a team.Ability to address complaints and resolve problems.Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written communication.Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills.Able to read, decipher and communicate findings of wiring diagrams schematizes, and complex aircraft regulatory documents.Ability to obtain a SIDA badge.Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position will have direct reports and will require overseeing shift activities and providing training for new team members.Language Skills:The employee must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively work with others, and respond to questions from managers and co-workers.Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently, but not always, works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment. Outside the office facilities the employee can be involved in frequent requirements to inspect the aircraft and work being performed that may require climbing, use of lifting devices (JLG type man-lifts), crawling, stooping, standing and bending.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility.
Some light physical effort is required.Must be able to work well under pressure.
